School Counseling Office
The mission of the Tennessee Online Public School Counseling Department is to prepare all students for high achievement in academic, career, and personal/social development. The school counselor’s role is to advocate for successful and flexible learning, as well as to prepare students for life after high school.
The goals of TOPS Counseling Department are:
- To assist all students with academic, career, and personal/social planning.
- To serve as a resource and advocate for students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Professional school counselors are certified/licensed professionals with a master's degree or higher in school counseling and are uniquely qualified to address the developmental needs of all students. Professional school counselors deliver a comprehensive school counseling program encouraging all students' academic, career and personal/social development and help all students in maximizing student achievement for all students.
