Hey! I am Britni Demma Sauceman. T.S. Eliot wrote, “We only live, only suspire / consumed by either fire or fire.” A great deal of my ‘fire’ comes from my career as a lifelong learner. From the time I graduated from Sullivan Central in 2000 and continued my education at East Tennessee State University for the following six years, I’ve been learning and growing – both academically and as a person. As a participant in the Honors English Program, I received my Bachelor of Arts in 2004 with a major in English and a minor in Criminal Justice and Criminology. I continued my education with my Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2006. That fall, I began my career in education in Morristown at Morristown-Hamblen High School East, where I taught English for three years. Following this, I returned to the Tri-Cities and began teaching at Tennessee High in Bristol. During my years at THS, I taught a variety of grades and levels and was appointed the honor of English Department Chair. I began furthering my education at ETSU in 2011 where I received my School Library Media Specialist certification in August of 2012. Since the fall of 2015, I spend my days as a Library Media Specialist (currently at Tennessee High School); I have been an adjunct English teacher for TOPS since 2015 as well.

Currently, I am married and live in Bristol, TN with my husband, our two cats (aptly named Catniss and Peeta), and our son Dalton.  I enjoy many hobbies – including the stereotypical reading. I was happy to learn that teaching English online is perhaps even more fun than teaching it in the traditional classroom, and I am looking forward to another great year.
