Searching for colleges can be an overwhelming task, as you might not know where to start. Here are some idea to help you on your search:
- If you can, go on campus visits. Visiting different colleges will help you figure out what it is you are looking for in school.
- Look at college websites. Specifically look at photos of the campus. Visit their student life, athletic, and student housing pages to learn about life on campus.
- Use other online sources that offer online campus tours. Such as: eCampusTours, You Visit, and Campus Tours.
- Consider these major factors to narrow down your search: Size of the school, intended major, location, and financial aid.
Be open-minded and consider all possibilities! This is the place you will be for 2 to 4 years, so you want to be able to feel excited about the life you could create and the education you will obtain.
Choosing a Major
Choosing a major is an important factor of beginning college. Some colleges have a variety of majors to choose from. Your college major is a group of courses in your desired specialization that will lead to you obtaining a career in the future in that specialized field. There are a variety of careers you can do with specific majors.
