Social Interactions
At TOPS or any online learning environment, students of every age need to spend time with their peers in some fashion throughout the week. Doing this at an online school is complex; prioritizing these interactions is the student and family's responsibility. TOPS will start clubs for the 24-25 school year that try to get together on Zoom once per month, but more social activities for students are necessary. The last thing we want at TOPS is for our students to be in front of a computer all day. Instead, we want them to be in their community and build positive relationships as much as possible. This includes volunteering, community centers, athletics/sports, hobbies, and more. See the list below that gives more ideas for students and families to build social interactions:
